Grilling Without a Grill

"All Before Coffee" Review

Fall can be a wonderful time to grill: It’s not too hot outside, some of the bugs have found other activities, and the bounty of produce still offers plenty to accompany the proteins. One slight problem for a lot of people: Grills are costly purchases. Even with the end-of-the-season sales, the massive Weber you’ve been seeing yourself in front of carries a price tag that’s not working for you.
Here's a doable solution: A portable, disposable, green grill. Yes, the portable charcoal grill does not contain chemicals (it uses natural charcoal), and the container itself is made from recyclable aluminum and the packaging from recyclable paperboard. We’re also talking about a product that averages $5 a grill and sold in multi-paks (larger sizes are also available for slightly more money)ezgrill. If you’ve merely been grillin’ dreaming, here’s your chance to fill your yard with the wonderful aromatics that accompany a grilled dinner.
Now you can participate in the all-American pasttime and still hold your budget in check. There’s always room in the future for that special Weber.
This is a handy, quick, (That’s why they call it an EZ Grill), delicious, win-win.

EZ Grill for the Home or Travel

Disposable Grill

There is a grill called EZ Grill that can be used at home or for travel. It is a disposable grill, and can be set up anywhere and then thrown away. I think it would be great for road trips, vacations, travel, second homes, backyards, etc. I think it would be good for almost everyone. I found that the EZ grill is a wonderful idea for easy grilling, especially for those on the go. This amazing grill lights with one match, and is friendly to the environment. It cooks up to 1-1/2 hours, and has 100% charcoal. To use the grill, you need to remove the packaging at first. Then you need to shake the grill to distribute the charcoal. Then place it on the metal stand. Now you need to light the corner of the starter sheet and let it burn for 15 minutes. After cooking you can use water, dirt, or sand to extinguish the hot coals.
out anywhere. You will no longer have to rely on the public grills you find in public parks, etc. This grill is not cumbersome and it is not messy. It is easy to use. You can even use it in your own backyard if you wish. This grill would be perfect for the day at the beach, or perfect for that camping trip. This sounds like a very handy grill that could be enjoyed by many. I think that the grill being portable and disposable, makes it a very attractive product.

In Case you’ve been living under a rock, FOOTBALL SEASON STARTS TOMORROW! That’s right, tomorrow campuses across the country are going to be smorgasbords of beer, food, loud music and thousands of grills with each festival of absolute excess culminating with 3 hours of gladiator like contest.

Grills that are going to have to be cleaned the next day by people with monumental hangovers who would rather be doing anything other than cleaning all the burnt-on BBQ sauce from the previous day’s tailgating festivities. That is of course unless said people were smart enough to grab a new EZ Grill Disposable Charcoal Grill from the grocery store or gas station when they were picking up the rest of their tailgating supplies.

Next to actual meat itself, this is quite possibly one of the most useful and convenient inventions ever to be created by man. Everything you need (Except for 1 match) to grill a tailgating feast comes in a nice neat package. Just remove the EZ Grill from it’s charcoal-dust-proof plastic wrapping, put it on it’s wire stand, throw in a match and in 15 minutes you’re ready to grill up everything from brats to steaks. The EZ Grill stays hot enough to cook anything you can throw at it for at least 1 1/2 hours. I literally cooked on mine until I had too much food for everyone to eat.

What’s really cool about the EZ Grill is that once you’re done cooking you just fold it up into itself and throw it into the garbage. (Make sure it’s cooled down first) After I had a chance to use one of these and realized how easy and convenient they were, I started keeping one in my car. What? You never know when a party is going to break out or when you’ll be stranded on some back road somewhere and need to kill something and cook it to survive. My mamma didn’t raise no fool and at less than $20 for four of the regular size, I stocked up.

ez-grillThe EZ Grill comes in two different sizes with the Regular EZ Grill measuring 9.8″ X 12.2″ and the Party EZ Grill measuring 18.9″ X 12.2″. The regular is great for keeping in your car or camping while the party size is ideal for tailgating or situations where you’re going to be cooking for several people. But their both perfect for people who just hate cleaning a grill after the big game.

The EZ Grill can be found at several different retailers listed HERE. The company also has great deals if you buy them direct from their order page HERE.

up, but there is still plenty of time to get in some grilling-- like this weekend at the razorback game at war memorial. but what if you don't want to have to pack up and haul around the heavy duty grill??? that's where the e-z grill comes in. it is supposed to be a portable and disposable grill-- it's time to find out if it's a deal or a dud. "do you love the taste of grilled food but hate the work it takes into getting a grill ready, not to mention the messy clean up? you need the original easy grill!"we'll see about that!"on a beautiful day like today how could you not grill? and today we're going to see how the ez grill stacks up to your average everyday charcoal grill."our tester of the week, dustin, had no problem getting started."its easy to open."and easy to read the instructions."place grill stand on a smooth non- flammable heat resistant surface."and in less than one minute it was ready to go. "easy to set up."the directions say just shake up the charcoal light a match, and throw it in ...but even after the match blew out... "look at that thing go"the charcoal lit with ease. but what would we cook? "hamburgers, hamburgers, hamburger, hamburger, hamburgers!"hamburgers of course!"while dustin puts the burgers on that grill i'm going to wear the official easy grill apron."as the flames died down on the ez grill, we checked on the other patties."let's see how they're doing mmm .....smells good."next, the patties on the ez grill. and it was time to put the dogs on! not those kind of dogs...these!! and within minutes, the burgers were done to perfection...and the hot dogs cooked as well. but the most important test, the taste test."mmm, this is good!""okay dustin, it's called the ez grill, would you say it's a deal or a dud? it's easy to set up, it cooked everything fast, i'd say it's a deal!" if you think the ez grill will turn you into the champion charcoal chef of the neighborhood- you can get it online at ez-grill-dot-com. it comes in two sizes-- the party size which is the one we tested, for 9-99, or this little guy, the regular size, for just 4-99, plus shipping of course. next friday -- since the dryer balls were a deal a few months back, we had to go back into the washroom to put the áwasherá balls to the test. the makers say the oxy powered laundry balls will get your clothes just as clean as regular detergent, but is less harmful to your clothing, and will save you money. but are they a deal or a dud? -- the answer next week on fox 16 news. and don't forget -- if you want a product put to the test.... log on to fox 16 dot com -- click on the deal or dud tab

High-Tech, Hassle-Free Tailgating

Gadgets for your next pigskin parking-lot party

Posted by Doug Newcomb on Saturday, September 12, 2009 10:20 AM
With college football already in full swing and the NFL season kicking off this weekend, it's time for gridiron fans to gather in stadium parking lots across the country for tailgating parties. But hold off on the hibachi and boombox. Here we have gadgets that will make your parking lot party more high tech and less hassle.

If you want your game day grilling to be less messy and a bit greener, pick up the EZ Grill (at most grocery stores or available as a two-pack for $19.95 online). It's a disposable barbecue grill that comes with its own metal stand. Light it and it's ready in 15 minutes. And when you're done, you can just toss it -- and not have to deal with carrying home a grody grill.

Since the EZ Grill uses 100 percent natural charcoal dipped in mineral oil instead of harsh chemicals, and the container is made from recycled aluminum, it's also better for the environment than other single-use portable grills.

Another Write Up that produced a full day of calls:

EZ Grill takes U.S. market by storm
Sep 14, 2009

After an eye-opening experience at a barbecue in his native England, entrepreneur Phillip Swan
made the decision to bring EZ Grill – an innovative cooking concept – to America, according to
Fortune Small Business.

Instead of using a propane grill to cook up the burgers and hot dogs, a guest brought a portable
grill to the party, piquing Swan’s interest in the concept.

“I basically used his $3,000 stainless-steel grill as a stand for the disposable ones,” Swan told
FSB.

Upon his return to Kirkland, Wash., Swan did some research and found that disposable grills hadtaken more than 50 percent of the market share from charcoal grills in Australia and the UnitedKingdom, as well as countries throughout Europe and the Middle East.
Swan’s EZ Grill is available in two sizes and provides about 90 minutes of cooking time. The
charcoal is made from rice and wheat husks, and its packaging and aluminum base are recyclable. On the EZ Grill Web site, the grills retail for about $20 for two grills, but individual
grills sell for between $4.99 and $9.99.

Speaking with DailyVista, Swan provided further details on his plans for growing the EZ Grill
brand stateside. Swan said that the idea for EZ Grill took six months from concept to initial samples. The company found a way to make the EZ Grill’s charcoal free of additives like lime, sulfur and borax, and made the product of a higher quality than that of previous portable grill attempts in the U.S. “We saw a product in the U.K. and figured out a way to make it better by making it environmentally friendly at a consumer impulse price...” he said. “The previous products that had tried to enter the U.S. market were of inferior quality and had additives and fillers in it and did not perform well, so the consumer did not like them.”

One of the biggest highlights for Swan was the rapidity in which the company was able to work
with its factory to find the winning formula for EZ Grill. “Our biggest challenge is scaling without adding headcount,” Swan said. “With my high tech background, we have built up an IT infrastructure that gives us the ability to track grains of carbon to finished product in the consumer’s hands.” He added that the company’s ever-evolving automated business processes allows the company to stay competitive while also being able to serve big box retailers, regional stores as well as small, local convenience stores.

Swan said that the strategy in building awareness for EZ Grill is fairly simple, but the company
has a large advertising and marketing budget for the next 12 months, and expects a “significant’
ongoing effort to maintain and build awareness.

“I like keeping things simple, as I then can personally understand it!” he said, adding that with
about 80 percent of all grocery shopping done by women, this makes up the core demographic
for EZ Grill’s brand awareness efforts. “She sees the grill and recognizes convenience and ease-of-use. She is buying with family cooking or eating events in mind, whether for backyard or beach/park or camping scenarios,” he said. According to Swan, EZ Grill will host events beginning in October, demonstrating the grills at instore or sporting events in major cities across the country.

He expects the EZ Grill brand to grow significantly, as the product has very broad appeal and is
simple to use as well. “As much as we hate this bad economy, it actually plays well for us,” Swan said. “This is priced as an impulse buy for people who are saving money with staycations. We are also planning on new product introductions, keeping our core Earth-friendly high performing grilling products in mind at an impulse price.”

Swan said that the company is focused on a comprehensive national distribution chain in retail.
In 10 weeks the company has already picked up distribution in 23,000 stores nationally, including Walmart, Safeway and 7-Eleven. “We are looking to at least double that number in 2010, if not more,” he said.

Swan said that Western Creative of Redford, Mich., is its agency of record for media and Web,
and the company does all of its packaging and logo design work in-house.

Grills! Grills! Grills!

A serial entrepreneur tries to make disposable grills friendly for foodies and the environment.

    grill.03.jpg
The EZ Grill sells for $4.99-$9.99

(Fortune Small Business) -- Serial entrepreneur Phillip Swan, 46, visited his native England last year and ended up in charge of a cookout for 20 people at his best friend's house. Instead of firing up his massive propane BBQ, Swan's buddy brought out disposable grills: baking pans with built-in cooking racks.
"I basically used his $3,000 stainless-steel grill as a stand for the disposable ones," Swan recalls, laughing.
Back home in Kirkland, Wash., Swan researched single-use grills and learned that they had won more than 50% of the charcoal grill market in Australia, the U.K. and countries throughout Europe and the Middle East. So this summer he unveiled a version for American consumers, called EZ Grill, which is available in two sizes and provides about 90 minutes of cooking time. It comes loaded with charcoal made from agricultural by-products -- rice and wheat husks -- and its packaging and aluminum base are recyclable. (EZ Grill's "environmentally friendly" branding is a stretch; despite the components, it's still a use-and-toss product.)
At first Swan projected 2009 revenues of $100,000. But with EZ Grill in 13,000 stores, including 7-Eleven, he's now expecting five times that figure.
These are hard times in the charcoal grill market. Sales are weak; former charcoal loyalists are switching to gas grills, which aren't so messy. Still, Swan thinks his grills will prevail by virtue of their disposability. After all, what's a mess when you don't have to clean it up? To top of page
